Position: Director of Mission Critical – Hyperscale Data Centers

Location: Indianapolis, IN (On-Site & Regional Oversight)

Company: Top 25 General Contractor

A leading national builder is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Mission Critical to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of a major hyperscale data center program in Indianapolis. This is a high-profile, long-term leadership role responsible for managing multiple workstreams, client relationships, and internal teams on one of the most significant builds in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive leadership for hyperscale data center delivery, overseeing all phases from preconstruction through commissioning
• Lead project teams, including PMs, Superintendents, Engineers, and trade partners across verticals (civil, structural, MEP)
• Serve as the primary interface with hyperscale clients and ensure alignment with program standards, budget, and schedule
• Oversee multiple concurrent scopes of work, managing risk, cost exposure, staffing, and productivity
• Drive consistency in quality, safety, scheduling, and field execution across all packages
• Develop and implement program-wide strategy, process improvements, and best practices
• Provide mentorship and development to senior staff across field and project teams
• Support business development and client retention through delivery excellence

Required Skills & Experience:

• 15–20+ years of construction experience, with a focus on mission-critical or large-scale technical projects
• Demonstrated success leading $250M+ data center or infrastructure programs
• Deep expertise in MEP systems, fast-track schedules, and commissioning workflows
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and client-facing communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple teams and priorities under pressure
• Proficient in enterprise project management tools (Procore, P6/MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Experience delivering for hyperscale clients (e.g., AWS, Meta, Google, Microsoft)
• Strong understanding of program-level staffing, scheduling, and financial oversight
• OSHA 30, PMP, or relevant certifications preferred
• Willingness to work on-site in Indianapolis and travel regionally as needed
