Job Title: Electronics Technician Maintenance III – External Communications (EXCOMM)
Openings: Multiple (7 FTE)

Location: Naval Station Norfolk, VA (On‑site at MARMC)
Clearance: Active SECRET (required at time of hire)
Employment Type: Full Time – Contingent on Contract Award

Additional Rate : $5.09/hr for Health & Welfare payments - to be used towards health and benefits costs, where any of the unused funds will roll over into your 401k.

About the Program

\n

Join a high‑trust team supporting MARMC C280 (Codes 283/284)—the Navy’s front line for shipboard comms readiness in Norfolk. Be the go‑to fixer across the external comms portfolio: HF/VHF/UHF LOS antenna systems, NAVMACS, Tactical RF, Tactical Link, Shipboard Wireless. On the C280 team you’ll perform assessments, troubleshoot tough faults, and deliver OJT that elevates Ship’s Force long after you’ve left the ship. It’s practical, high‑impact work that keeps crews connected and ready.

What You’ll Do:

\n

Provide Full Time Onsite Support for external communications systems across HF/VHF/UHF LOS, NAVMACS, Tactical RF, Tactical Link, and Shipboard Wireless system families.

\n

· Perform assessments/inspections, troubleshooting, corrective actions, adjustments/repairs, and grooms.

\n

· Observe operations, conduct cold/hot & operational checks, use proper M&TE, and compile MS Office reports.

\n

· Provide OJT to Ship’s Force; communicate findings and drive timely corrective actions.

\n

Required Minimum Qualifications

\n

\n
• Active SECRET security clearance.
\n
• Knowledge of Navy assessment programs; instrumented troubleshooting; read wiring diagrams/control schematics; MS Office; strong comms.
\n
• \n 4+ years general troubleshooting/repair/assessment ; 2+ years specific in at least one system family below:
\n
• \n HF/VHF/UHF LOS Antenna Systems (e.g., LWCA, AS 390, AS 1735, AS 2809, AS 3226, AS 4163)
\n
• \n HF Communications (e.g., AN/URT 23, AN/URC 131, AN/URC 109, AN/URC 146)
\n
• \n VHF Communications (e.g., AN/SRC 54, AN/GRC 211, AN/VRC 46, Bridge to Bridge)
\n
• \n NAVMACS (e.g., AN/SYQ 7 variants, AN/SYQ 26 variants)
\n
• \n Tactical RF (e.g., SAS, BAS, RDS, COMSEC, AN/USQ 155)
\n
• \n Tactical Link (e.g., AN/SRQ 4, AN/URC 107/141/154, AN/USQ 167)
\n
• \n Shipboard Wireless (e.g., AN/SRC 55, AN/SRC 59)

· Breadth across multiple families; MARMC/ATG/TYCOM/INSURV support history
