MHS Association seeks a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly skilled Executive Assistant to provide administrative and strategic support to our executive leadership team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a values-driven nonprofit association serving health and human service organizations nationwide.

Executive Summary

We are looking for an Executive Assistant who excels at anticipating needs, managing complex priorities, and ensuring seamless operations for our President/CEO, COO, CFO, and Governing Board. The ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, and emotionally intelligent, with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting mission-driven work.

MHS Association serves 78 Anabaptist health and human service organizations across the U.S., supporting senior leadership and boards through education, resources, networking, and advocacy. Our members represent senior living, behavioral health, social services, acute medical care, and more.

Role Definition & Impact

As Executive Assistant, you will be an integral member of the MHS team, ensuring that our leadership can focus on strategic priorities. You will manage calendars, coordinate meetings and travel, maintain key organizational documents, and provide essential support for board functions, member services, and events such as our annual MHS Assembly. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve our members with excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of office/administrative experience, or high school diploma with 4+ years’ relevant experience (additional education may substitute for experience).

• Proven track record of proactive self-direction and sound judgment with minimal supervision.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and database management.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy, agility, and foresight.

• Clear, concise, and professional communication skills across multiple channels.

• Commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level administrative support to the President/CEO, COO, CFO, and Governing Board.

• Arrange and manage complex calendars, meetings, and travel logistics.

• Create and edit presentations, proposals, and correspondence.

• Maintain electronic and hard copy files; prepare reports and meeting materials.

• Serve as the liaison for office operations, IT support, and vendor relations.

• Coordinate logistics for board and committee meetings, ensuring exceptional experiences.

• Assist in planning and executing the annual conference and other key events.

• Manage member data in the association management software (AMS) and serve as the organization’s AMS super-user.

Position Details

• Type: Full-time, non-exempt. Typical hours of work will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening, weekend, and travel will be required as job duties demand.

• Location: In-person, Goshen, Indiana

• Compensation: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
