Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Manager, Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in data engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams that deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions.

• Lead a team of data engineers and lead supporting data pipelines, reporting, and exchange across key business domains.

• Provide strategic, technical and project leadership to data pipeline development.

• Drive end-to-end ownership of the development lifecycle including intake, estimation, design, build, test, and support.

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Owners, Data Architects, QA, and Infrastructure teams) to define priorities and resource allocation.

• Implement best practices in SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and DevOps automation in a data engineering context.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all systems and platforms.

• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance to meet business objectives.

• Translate technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences to ensure effective communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science required

• 4 years of Data Engineering Experience required

• Minimum 3 years of management experience required

• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java

• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Highly self-motivated and directed

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards preferred

• DBT Certification or Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification preferred

• Background in Agile methodologies and project management tools preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provides leadership oversight, coaching, counseling, recognition and development to the Data Engineering team.

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

• On-site, Hybrid Schedule

• 4 days in office, 1 day remote

Compensation and Benefits

• Target salary range for this position will be $155,000 to $165,000, depending on qualifications.

• In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus eligibility with a target payout of 15%, based on company and individual performance
