Job Title: Shop Helper

• $18 - $20 an hour -- Average of 50 hours (10 OT hours weekly)

Job Description

Seeking a motivated and reliable Shop Helper to join our millwright fabrication team. This position supports our welder-fabricators and shop operations by assisting with a variety of tasks including material handling, equipment operation, and general shop maintenance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist welder-fabricators with setup, positioning, and handling of materials and tools.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as brake press, CNC laser cutter, and shear.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks under supervision.
• Operate forklift.
• Prep and paint fabricated parts and assemblies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Load and unload materials and finished products.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of welding, machining, and mechanical assembly is a plus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Previous experience in a fabrication or industrial shop is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure and basic blueprints is a plus.
• Clean MVR is desirable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
