Travel RN Opportunity – Operating Room (OR)

Schedule & Shift Details

• Shift Type: 3x12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
• Call Requirement: Yes – weekday, weekend, and holiday call as needed
• Block Scheduling: Not available
• Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 5 years preferred (may consider less with strong specialty experience)
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Trauma Experience: Level II required
• Licensure: Active TX RN license
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA)
• Certifications Preferred:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
• Charting System: Epic (experience required)
• Charge Experience: Preferred

Specialties:

• Neurology: ALIF, cervical/lumbar fusion, craniotomy, VP shunt insertion, kyphoplasty
• Orthopedic & Spine: ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy, joint replacement, spinal fusion
• General Surgery: Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy
• Urology: Circumcision, cystectomy, nephrectomy, TURP
• Trauma: Amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVAs
• Podiatry: Bunionectomy, metatarsal surgery, ankle fusion
• ENT: Sinus procedures, laryngectomy, tonsillectomy, rhinoplasty
• Ophthalmology: Eye trauma, vitrectomy
• Bariatrics: Gastric sleeve, laparoscopic procedures
• Robotics: Da Vinci Xi, Mako, colorectal and urologic robotic surgery

Professional Skills:

• Scrub and circulate
• Blood product administration
• Conscious sedation monitoring
• Infection control
• Specimen handling
• Universal protocol/time-out
• Wound management
• Emergency response (Code, Fire Safety, Malignant Hyperthermia)

• Electrosurgical units
